London, Aug 22 : Sex and the City star Cynthia Nixon has signed up to star in new ITV1 drama 'An Englishman In New York', a follow up to Quentin Crisp's eccentric drama 'The Naked Civil Servant'.
Cynthia, 42, who plays Miranda in the SATC, will star opposite John Hurt, 68, who reprises his role as gay icon 'Quentin Crisp'.
'An Englishman in New York' picks up from where the 1975 classic left off - and sees Nixon's character Penny Arcade bond with Crisp in his latter years.
"There is a real buzz about the project," The Sun quoted producer James Burstall, as saying of the ITV1 drama.
The programme will air next year.
