LAPD Chief blames celebs for paparazzi attention

Many stars say that the paparazzi are creating problems for them and that stricter laws should be enforced, but LAPD Chief William Bratton says things have calmed down since Britney Spears started wearing clothes, Paris Hilton is out of town and Lindsay Lohan has turned gay.

New York, Aug 1 : Many stars say that the paparazzi are creating problems for them and that stricter laws should be enforced, but LAPD Chief William Bratton says things have calmed down since Britney Spears "started wearing clothes", Paris Hilton is out of town and Lindsay Lohan has turned gay.

Fed-up celebs John Mayer, Eric Roberts and Milo Ventimiglia testified before the newly created Paparazzi Task Force today, giving vivid accounts of stalking, high-speed car chases and physical altercations.

"You got a rock star out of bed at 8 in the morning. This must be really important," New York Daily quoted Mayer, a favourite paparazzi target and Jennifer Aniston's boyfriend, as saying.

"It's the wild west right now," he added.

But LAPD Chief William Bratton, who passed on joining the task force, told reporters there's no need for new paparazzi laws.

"If you notice, since Britney started wearing clothes and behaving; Paris is out of town not bothering anybody anymore, thank God, and evidently, Lindsay Lohan has gone gay, we don't seem to have much of an issue," Bratton said.

"If the ones that attract the paparazzi behave in the first place, like we expect of anybody, that solves about 90% of the problem. The rest we can deal with," he added.
