Actor Patrick Swayze has thanked his fans for their constant support during his ongoing treatment for pancreatic cancer.

Washington, April 9 : Actor Patrick Swayze has thanked his fans for their constant support during his ongoing treatment for pancreatic cancer.

The Dirty Dancing star and his doctor also said that they are "thrilled" with the actor's treatment for pancreatic cancer.

The 55-year-old actor announced that he had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last month, reports E! Online.

In a statement released on April 8, the actor and his wife Lisa Niemi said: "We're thrilled and grateful for the positive response Patrick has shown towards his treatment."

"Also, we can't help but feel that all the prayers, meditations and good thoughts sent his way by everyone has made a difference. Thank you!" they added.

His physician, Dr. George Fisher, said: "Patrick Swayze continues to respond well to his treatment for pancreatic cancer. Because of his excellent response, he will continue the same therapy at Stanford."
