John Lennons police drugs blunder revealed

Late English rock musician and former Beatles member John Lennon was once escorted by the police from a drug dealers house with a pocket-full of marijuana.

Washington, Apr 08 : Late English rock musician and former Beatles member John Lennon was once escorted by the police from a drug dealer's house with a pocket-full of marijuana.

The story, as told by former British Prime Minister Tony Blair's father-in-law, describes how Lennon was discovered inside the den when a group of screaming women surrounded the London flat during the incident in 1969.

The police upon discovering that he was in the flat, called him up and offered to escort him safely from the building, reports Contactmusic.

The late singer came out of the flat with about 11 pounds (4.9 kilogrammes) of marijuana in his pocket, and the cops who had no idea about it ushered him to the safety of a waiting police car.

Tony Booth - who was scoring drugs at the house at the time - says, Lennon "killed himself with laughter" over the incident.
