Jay-Z about to pull out of Glastonbury festival

Rapper Jay-Z is all set to pull out of the Glastonbury festival, it has been revealed.

London, April 7 : Rapper Jay-Z is all set to pull out of the Glastonbury festival, it has been revealed.

The rapper, who married long-time girlfriend Beyonce on April 4, is disappointed with organisers for using his planned headline act to advertise the event's appeal to a younger and more "urban" crowd.

Thus, he decided to play the 02 Wireless Festival in London's Hyde Park on July 3, instead.

Sources say that Jay-Z was also upset by suggestions that his signing caused fewer ticket registrations than last year and the reaction to his appearance on some festival message boards.

If a last-minute peace deal is not finalised, the rapper's cancellation will disappoint many of the 100,000 music fans who bought festival tickets when they went on sale on April 6.

"He hasn't liked all this talk of how Glastonbury is more urban and hip this year because of his appearance. He feels it's a bit sad and he's being used to make a point," The Sun quoted a source, as saying.

"The straw that broke the camel's back was when he was blamed for the lower registrations," the source added.

However, organiser Michael Eavis has dismissed reports that the rapper has cancelled his headline act.

"I spoke to his people this weekend. Everything is fine. I'm excited," Eavis said.
