Fashion magazine readers backlash against Posh cover

A monthly fashion magazine has had to face a lot of complaints about the projection of Spice Girl Victoria Beckham on the cover of its April edition, with readers saying that it made the fashion bible seem like a gossip rag.

London, April 7 : A monthly fashion magazine has had to face a lot of complaints about the projection of 'Spice Girl' Victoria Beckham on the cover of its April edition, with readers saying that it made the fashion bible seem like a gossip rag.

Posh, as Victoria is known in the celebrity circle, raised eyebrows among the fashion pack when she appeared on the cover of Vogue magazine, according to reports.

The 33-year-old star also gave a candid interview to the journal's editor about her fashion designs, life with footballer husband David, and her recent 'Spice Girls' tour.

However, her cover appearance failed to impress the magazine's readers, suggest reports.

"Normally Vogue is all about what's hip and what's not and features a stunning amazon of a woman on the cover who is associated with cutting edge fashion," the Daily Star quoted one fashion fan as saying.

"Instead we get a modestly talented dancer who likes clothes and who was lucky enough to engineer her way into one of the biggest girl groups in the world," the fan added.

Meanwhile, 74-year-old comedian Joan Rivers has branded Victoria Beckham "arrogant".

"I dislike Victoria Beckham. The arrogance when she walks into a room is astonishing," said the comedian.

Fraser Ross, the owner of Los Angeles store Kitson, said that Posh would not do an in-store appearance to promote her dVb range.

However, reacting to Ross' statement, a spokesman for Victoria said: "Sadly all of the stockists around the globe have been requesting in-store signings and it is not possible to visit every store."
