Washington, April 7 : Candice Bergen has signed on to join Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway in 'Bride Wars,' a romantic comedy from Fox 2000 and New Regency.
The film's story revolves around best friends (Hudson and Hathaway) who are pitted against each other when their wedding dates clash. They compete for venues, services and guests.
Bergen has been cast to play Marion St. Claire, the queen of all wedding planners, reports Variety.
Gary Winick will direct the screenplay from June Diane Raphael and Casey Wilson.
Karen McCullah Lutz and Kirsten Smith also wrote on the project.
Hudson, Julie Yorn and Alan Riche are producing while Matt Luber is the executive producer.
Production is slated to begin this month in Boston.
