London, Apr 5 : Pop icon Madonna has reportedly scrapped plans to adopt a Malawian girl.
The 49-year-old singer wanted to adopt Mercy, aged two, as a sister for her adopted Malawian son David Bana.
According to aides of the "Material Girl", she was exhausted by the legal proceedings during the adoption of David, also two.
"Madonna wanted to adopt a boy and a girl. But Mercy's relatives objected and she had a complete turnaround. Everyone was stunned. Normally nothing will stop her," The Sun quoted a family friend, as saying.
"She now believes David will be the last child she adopts. Instead she will support orphans through her charity," the friend added.
