Anna Nicole Smith turned to Judaism in the months before her death

Anna Nicole Smith embraced Judaism in the months before her death, because the religions rules comforted her as she mourned the loss of her son Daniel.

Washington, April 3 : Anna Nicole Smith embraced Judaism in the months before her death, because the religion's rules comforted her as she mourned the loss of her son Daniel.

The late model/actress' son died from an accidental drug overdose just days after his baby sister Dannielynn was born in the Bahamas.

The tragedy then prompted Smith to turn to the religion, reports Contactmusic.

In a new book called Anna Nicole Smith: Portrait Of An Icon, the tragic star's stylist pals Pol Atteu and Patrik Simpson reveal the actress found great comfort in Judaism after her son's death in September 2006.

They even feature photographs of the late star posing in front of a mirror that has been covered in accordance with Jewish mourning rites.

"Anna embraced all religions, and followed the Jewish tradition out of respect for (companion) Howard K. Stern by covering all the mirrors in the house because she was in mourning," Atteu and Simpson write in the book.
