Obama inspires me like Gandhi, says Kal Penn

Indian-American actor Kal Penn has admitted that US presidential candidate Barack Obama inspires him like Mahatma Gandhi.

Washington, Apr 19 : Indian-American actor Kal Penn has admitted that US presidential candidate Barack Obama inspires him like Mahatma Gandhi.

'The Namesake' star has been quietly campaigning for Obama at colleges and high schools all over America.

"I'm not a registered Democrat, and I've never gotten motivated before, mostly because I wasn't a fan of the political establishment," Contactmusic quoted Penn, as saying.

"But I was really inspired by Barack. I haven't been that inspired since hearing my grandparents tell stories about marching with Gandhi.

"I'm with the campaign until the man has a new address on Pennsylvania Avenue (Washington, D.C.)," he added.

Other celebs backing the Democrat include Jessica Alba, Oprah Winfrey, Bruce Springsteen and Will Smith.
