London, Apr 14 : Actress Uma Thurman has revealed that she was an ugly duckling as a child, with chubby features.
The actress confessed that her cheeks looked like they were "taped to the side of my head".
"I had baby fat and a big nose, big lips and big eyes that looked like they were taped to the side of my head. I was tall really young and I had a funny name," the Mirror quoted her, as saying.
"I had not grown into my features. I was just trying to make it to from history to English class and still feel good," she added.
The 37-year-old 6ft Pulp Fiction star revealed how, since she always thought she would never be good-looking, she concentrated on excelling in her schoolwork instead.
"I didn't feel doors were going to fly open for me for being cute, so I worked hard at everything else," she said.
"The more life plays with you, the more you understand," she added.
