George Clooney being wooed back to ER

George Clooney has been invited to return for TV hospital drama ERs upcoming 15th and final season.

London, April 13 : George Clooney has been invited to return for TV hospital drama ER's upcoming 15th and final season.

Producers of the long-running NBC series are keen on having Clooney to play Dr Doug Ross, the role he played for five years between 1994 and 1999 and through which he rose to fame and turned the serial into a ratings phenomenon.

The 46-year-old actor and fellow former ER 'graduate' Juliana Margulies have been invited to return for one episode each at the 'going rate' of around 20,000 pounds.

"We're hoping George and Juliana will agree for old times sake," The Daily Express quoted an executive, as saying.

"ER was the vehicle that turned them both into A-list stars and if the salaries on offer are not huge by their standards, we can promise the storylines will be," the executive added.

A spokesman for Clooney, said: "George has a huge soft spot for ER."

NBC's network bosses have approved an extended run of 19 episodes for the final series, with a finale that will air in America next February.
