Will Smith signs on to star in Seven Pounds

Will Smith has signed on to star drama Seven Pounds.

Washington, Sept 7 : Will Smith has signed on to star drama 'Seven Pounds'.

The move will see Smith reuniting with the creative team behind "The Pursuit of Happyness", especially director Gabriele Muccino.

Escape Artists and Smith's Overbrook Entertainment, who produced "Happyness", will be doing so once again, reports Variety.

Also on the producers list are Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, James Lassiter, Smith and Steve Tisch.

'Seven Pounds' centres on a man who inadvertently falls in love while attempting to commit suicide.

Grant Nieporte has penned the screenplay, and the movie is set to start shooting in February for a late 2008 release.
