London, September 7 : Rock star Mick Jagger is very impressed with his son, James, who made his acting debut in Lone Star and Private Wars, two anti-Vietnam mini-comedies.
The Rolling Stones frontman laughed out loud as he saw James' performance in a tiny pub theatre.
"I'm very, very proud of him," the Sun quoted the Rolling Stones frontman as saying in praise of his son.
Given the rave reviews that James has received, it is now believed that there could soon be another famous Jagger.
He is earning just 300 pounds a week performing at the King's Head Theatre in Islington, North London, where tickets cost 15 pounds.
"James is brainy and Mick really wanted him to go to university. But he said no because for years his heart has been set on an acting career," a friend of his said.
Mick, who came to the theatre with leggy girlfriend L'Wren Scott and a bodyguard, chatted with his son backstage after the performance.
James, who acted in silk pyjamas and a stripey dressing gown, admitted that he was nervous acting in front of Mick.
"Dads are always very critical," he said.
He also had to perfect a Texan drawl to play a hillbilly. It is being speculated that he took speech coaching from his mother, Texan-born model Jerry Hall.
