Comedienne Whoopi Goldberg found it really hard to get work after criticising US President George W. Bush.
Washington, Sept 7 : Comedienne Whoopi Goldberg found it really 'hard to get work' after criticising US President George W. Bush.
The Oscar winner had condemned Bush by comparing his name to a term for vagina at a Democrat fund raising event in 2004.
Soon after the incident, Goldberg was dropped as a spokesperson for diet aid company Slim-Fast.
The 51-year-old said the entire ordeal was scary, and that she really wondered if she had to stop 'being political'. After the supposed remarks I made, it got very difficult to get work. It was scary. I've taken every president to task, but I started thinking, 'Do I stop being political?' At that time no one was saying anything that wasn't in step (with the Bush administration), " Contactmusic quoted her, as saying.
However, the actress said that things are much better now.
"It's OK now to be an American again. It's OK to get the dialogue," she added.
