London, Sept 6 : After landing in the Bizarre Caners League after a series of drunken escapades, Sarah Harding is now determined to tone down her drinking.
Harding, known for being the most rock'n'roll member of 'Girls Aloud' defends herself claiming that she is not hooked to alcohol.
"I don't want to be known as a slapper or a pi**head," Sun quoted Harding, as saying.
"I didn't mind being up for the Caners League last year because I think I deserved it. But I'm not as bad this year. I have calmed down; I'm not always drunk like people think.
"I want people to see there's more to me than just going out and getting trolleyed."
The blonde girl asserted that she is a role model for young girls and refuses to be branded as a binge drinker.
"I can't say I'm not a binge drinker. I do go out and drink and get photographed but I'm not always as wasted as people think. Sometimes I'm blinking because of all the camera flashes going off.
"I'm no angel but surely I'm allowed to go out and have a good time occasionally."Sarah lives alone in London and her mother stays in Stockport, where she was brought up.
"It's my mum who gets upset when she sees the pictures and reads about me. She rings me and gives me a hard time.
"It's not fair on her because she doesn't want to see me like that and she worries. She knows I'm here on my own in London and she just worries about the city's party scene."
"I haven't got that kind of relationship with her where we speak every day, like some of the other girls.
"I speak to her every week or couple of weeks but I've always been fiercely independent," she said.
