Former Friends star David Schwimmer has left fans disappointed by declaring that the old cast of the hit sitcom will not be getting back together.
Washington, Sep 5 : Former Friends star David Schwimmer has left fans disappointed by declaring that the old cast of the hit sitcom will not be getting back together.
In a recent statement, Schwimmer announced he will not reprise the character of Ross Gellar from the hit show, which completed a ten-year run in 2004.
"We are not getting back together. I have not been approached; none of the producers have been approached," Contactmusic quoted him, as telling the Daily Telegraph.
The actor admitted that he would decline the offer of portraying geeky palaeontologist Ross, even if there were some plans under way.
"If I was asked to do it, I'd say 'No'. It was ten years ago and it's time to move on," he said.
However, the 40-year-old confessed that he is indebted to the sitcom, which brought stardom for him and co-stars Matt Le Blanc, Matthew Perry, Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox and Lisa Kudrow.
"I'm often asked whether 'Friends' has been an albatross around my neck, or whether people only see me as 'Ross from 'Friends', but I don't ever think negatively about it," he said.
"Really, that show has been a blessing. It's given me the financial freedom to choose the projects I really want to do," he added.
