London, Sept 4 : British actor Clive Owen is thrilled to be acting in 'Shoot 'Em Up', for it was the 'wildest' script he had come across in quite a while.
The actor plays Mr Smith, an angry anti-hero who uses every type of weapon possible as he battles to protect a newborn baby from the 'bad guy', played by Paul Giamatti in the movie.
Also starring with him is Italian superstar Monica Bellucci, who plays a prostitute.
Owen told the Daily Snack that he loved acting in the movie because it was "probably the wildest, freshest script I've read in years".
"I like the fact that it unashamedly says from the outset: don't take this too seriously," he said.
Owen, who did most of his own stunts for the film, also revealed that the role was one of the most physically challenging ones he had done so far.
"I was in a harness for 10 days being spun around and flung and all that stuff at the end. It was physically demanding for sure," he said.
'Shoot 'Em Up' is set to release on Sept 7 in the US.
