U2 frontman Bono paid tribute to The Beatles at the UK premiere of Across the Universe, a new musical film based on the Fab Fours songs.
London, September 28 : U2 frontman Bono paid tribute to 'The Beatles' at the UK premiere of 'Across the Universe', a new musical film based on the Fab Four's songs.
Bono makes a cameo appearance as a shaman called Dr. Roberts in the movie, which also happens to be his first acting role.
The rock star made a surprise appearance at the premiere of the film, where he said that 'The Beatles' meant everything for him because they had laid the foundation for the various musical bands that have emerged today.
"They built the road that bands like U2 travel on," the BBC quoted him as saying. Written by Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais, the film is a love story set in the 1960s. It features 33 Beatles tracks, including Revolution, Hey Jude, I Am The Walrus, and All You Need is Love.
'Across the Universe' stars Evan Rachel Wood and Jim Sturgess, who is playing his first lead role.
