I hate red-carpet events, says Keira Knightley

Actress Keira Knightley has revealed that she hates red carpet events because people criticise her appearance.

Washington, Sept 26 : Actress Keira Knightley has revealed that she hates red carpet events because people criticise her appearance.

Talking to Allure magazine, the 22-year-old actress said that she feels disgusted when people grade her looks and make unpleasant comments.

"All these people were coming up to my face and screaming, 'seven out of ten!' - referring to the way I look," the People quoted Knightley, as saying.

"And you think, you rude f-----."

"I hate red-carpet events; I absolutely hate them. I don't like the fact that people write, 'Oh, you look like crap' in print. Or 'I don't like your arms,'" she added.

Knightley also said she has self-esteem problems.

"I'm not Wonder Woman. I have self-esteem problems. Everybody does. You know, skinny people are allowed to feel s--- about themselves," Knightley said.

Knightley 's grandmother and great-grandmother both suffered from anorexia; therefore she gets offended when people criticise her weight.

"I haven't got a clue about how much I weigh. I do not own any scales," she said.

"And I have noticed it creates an anger in people who are not skinny. People like to blame their insecurities on other people," she added.
