A crewmember on the new Batman movie was killed in a vehicular accident during the shooting on Monday.
London, September 25 : A crewmember on the new Batman movie was killed in a vehicular accident during the shooting on Monday.
The tragedy took place when a 4x4 the special effects expert riding hit a tree at the two-mile MoD Qinetiq racetrack in Chertsey, Surrey.
The victim was filming the Batmobile while following it on a track to work out stunts. By the time the police and an ambulance reached the place of mishap, the victim had died.
The driver of the 4x4 was unhurt in the accident, reports the Sun.
Most part of 'Batman: The Dark Knight', scheduled for release in the UK next July, has been shot in Chicago, though scenes were also shot in London and Hong Kong. It stars Christian Bale as Batman and Michael Caine as his butler.
The movie also features Gary Oldman and Morgan Freeman, none of whom saw the accident.
The police and the Health and Safety Executive are investigating the matter.
