Washington, Sept 24 : 'Resident Evil: Extinction' has topped the weekend box office with an estimated 24 million dollars.
The third instalment of the video games spawn series was followed by comedy 'Good Luck Chuck' (14 million dollars) in the second spot, reports E! Online.
Jodie Foster starrer 'The Brave One' (7.4 million dollars) and '3:10 to Yuma', (6.4 million dollars) secured third and fourth places respectively.
'Eastern Promises' rounded off the top five, at the fifth spot with 5.7 million dollars.
The top 10 films based on Friday-Sunday estimates compiled by Exhibitor Relations are as follows:
