Winona Ryder, Mickey Rourke have signed up to star in The Informers.

Melbourne, Sept 22 : Winona Ryder, Mickey Rourke have signed up to star in 'The Informers'.

The Gregor Jordan directed pic is based on Bret Easton Ellis' novel of the same name.

Ryder and Rourke will now be joining an already confirmed cast of Billy Bob Thornton, Kim Basinger, Brandon Routh, Ashley Olsen, Jon Foster, Lou Taylor Pucci and Austin Nichols, reports Moviehole.net.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, which tells seven separate stories, follows a week in the lives of a group of morally challenged characters -- a movie executive, his wife, his mistress, a rock star, a vampire and a kidnapper.

Set in 1980s Los Angeles, the movie is being financed by Senator Entertainment.

Ryder is to play a newscaster who has just been dumped after a longtime affair with a married producer William Sloan.

Rourke will play Peter, an amoral former studio security guard who plots to kidnap a small child to sell to the leader of a Los Angeles cult.
