New Delhi, Sept 21 : With Indian fashion making its mark as a fast growing market for international designers and fashion giants, Vogue is getting set to launch a new magazine - Vogue India.

The launch takes place at Jodhpur on Sept 22.

Edward Lalrempuia, Junior Fashion Stylist, Vogue India, said that the launch was extremely exciting for the magazine as India, with its growing spending power, is an ideal market.

"I think it is an exciting time coz India's fashion is also growing and the Indian customers, the market is so huge that we have so much money. It is an exciting time. We are very excited that Vogue is finally launching in India," he said.

As for why the magazine is just choosing to enter the Indian market, well that's because Vogue feels that the time is finally right to do so.

"Every magazine has its time. You can't compare it with any other magazines. It is very different from other magazine. This stuff, style and content of the magazine is very different. Vogue has a niche market. I think Conde thinks it is the right time to come to India," he said.

"It is a luxury magazine so we are trying to rope in as many luxury products as possible. At the same time we are trying to reach out to the masses. It will definitely raise the fashion bar," he added.

However, he added that it would still take some time for India to be at par with the international market.

"I really don't think just because Vogue is coming to India, it is suddenly at par (with international market). We are not at par yet but it is a big family market so we are trying to be at par with international people, the West. I think it will still take some time because the fashion industry in India is very young as compared to Paris, Milan and London. It will take sometime but we are growing," he said.
