Sian Lloyd bags Rear of the Year title

TV weather forecaster Sian Lloyd has been named Rear of the Year, making her the oldest woman to receive the title.

London, Sept 20 : TV weather forecaster Sian Lloyd has been named 'Rear of the Year', making her the oldest woman to receive the title.

The 49-year-old, who beat the likes of younger contestants in the online poll, said that she is 'honoured' to bag the title.

Lloyd joins a big list of Britain's posteriors like Charlotte Church, Denise van Outen and Javine Hylton.

She said that she doesn't pay much attention to her body

"I eat like a pig and I can't stand the gym but I do look after myself - I'd be groomed even if I worked in a supermarket,' the Daily Mail quoted Lloyd, as saying.

"I'm even more honoured now I hear that I'm the oldest woman ever to win this. Fifty is the new 30, I suppose," she added.

Organiser Tony Edwards said that many voters in the online poll, which was held to support the charity Beating Bowel Cancer, compared Lloyd to the hotpants-wearing duo 'The Cheeky Girls'.

"Looking at her and previous winners, could you honestly say she doesn't look every bit as good as all the others - perhaps better," Mr Edwards said.

Winning the title in the men's category was West End musical star Lee Mead who stars in West End musical Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,

"It's such an important cause and although I feel a bit overwhelmed, it's great to raise awareness,' Mead said..

"I keep my bum in shape by plenty of gym visits - and, of course, doing eight performances of Joseph a night."

Tara MacDowel, of Beating Bowel Cancer, said that people still have reservations talking about the bottom and bowel cancer

"We as a nation still find it difficult and embarrassing to talk openly about bottoms even more so to discuss a condition such as bowel cancer," MacDowel said.

"But it is crucial to break down the taboos associated with the disease, which is why the collaboration with Rear of the Year is such a fantastic opportunity," MacDowel added.
