Granny accuses Geldof of drooling over Tiger Lilys inheritance

Late rocker Michael Hutchences mother has accused Irish rock star Bob Geldof of damaging ties between her family and Tiger Lily, the 11-year-old daughter of Hutchence and Geldofs late ex-wife Paula Yates.

London, September 20 : Late rocker Michael Hutchence's mother has accused Irish rock star Bob Geldof of damaging ties between her family and Tiger Lily, the 11-year-old daughter of Hutchence and Geldof's late ex-wife Paula Yates.

Calling Geldof a bad father, Patricia Glassop said that the signer-songwriter was only interested in the inheritance that Tiger Lily would get upon attaining her adulthood.

Glassop further said that the Dublinborn Live Aid hero had disallowed the youngster from coming "home" to Australia, and that he was "very cruel" in keeping her from her rightful family.

She slammed the use of moniker 'Saint Bob' for Geldof.

"He's certainly not a saint, I can't see that side of him at all. I think he is Satan," the Daily Mail quoted her as saying.

Glassop revealed that she was informed two weeks ago that Geldof, with whom Tiger Lily has been living ever since her mother's death in 2000, wanted to adopt the little girl.

She complained that the rock star did not allow her to see or speak to her granddaughter, and that she had seen Tiger Lily only twice in the last seven years.

"I think he is cruel, very cruel to keep her from her family. I am not allowed to speak to her on the phone. He's even changed the phone number," she said.

"She rang here five nights in a row when she went home, begging to come to live with us but Bob, of course, wouldn't let her," she added.

Glassop also accused Geldof of hiding away the presents that she sent for Tiger Lily.

She further said that Geldof had raised his other children "like hippies", and that he did not have any control over what his daughters would do in public.

Glassop said that all she wanted from Geldof was to provide her with access to her granddaughter.

"We just hope Tiger gets to hear that we want her. If we can't have custody then we would like annual visits," she said.

Geldof was unavailable for comment.
