London, Sept 18: Status Quo's Rick Parfitt's, has for the first time revealed details about his secret wedding and how the nuptial bliss helped him fight his demons.
The 57-year-old, Rick married Lyndsay Whitburn, 42, in a secret ceremony in Gibraltar. He claimed that he was down in the dumps before meeting the fitness instructor.
"I was so low I'd wake up in the morning, switch on the telly and still find myself there at 3pm. I was lost," Mirror quoted him, as saying.
The two met at a local gym but Rick claimed that he was too shy to talk to her.
"I just saw this vision of loveliness," he told Hello! magazine.
"We took a chance and got married. In truth we hardly know each other but you can't get a more powerful feeling than real love
"I started dressing smartly again, went to the gym three times a week, cut down on drinking and felt good about myself," Rick added.
