Actor James Spader was so surprised to win the best actor Emmy award for Boston Legal that he forgot to wish his mum a happy birthday during his acceptance speech.
Washington, Sept 18 : Actor James Spader was so surprised to win the best actor Emmy award for 'Boston Legal' that he forgot to wish his mum a happy birthday during his acceptance speech.
Spader did not write a speech because he was so sure that James Gandolfini will win the prize.
While accepting the award, the actor joked that he felt like he is showing off a pile of money to the mob, from whom he stole the cash.
"I feel like I just stole a pile of money from the Mob - and they're all sitting right over there," Contactmusic quoted Spader, as saying.
It was only when he got to the backstage that he realised he had forgotten to wish his mother.
"I told every news organisation that I really just wanted to wish my mother a happy birthday. I wish I had remembered out there on the stage," he said.
