London, Sep 14 : Veteran musician Sting has landed in a soup after being photographed outside the most notorious brothel in Hamburg, Germany, hours after his band 'The Police' played a sell-out concert.

The married singer, 55, was snapped with bodyguards in a minibus outside Hamburgs private Relax club at 2.15am on Wednesday.

Sting, whose real name is Gordon Sumner, was photographed by tabloid Bild, which asked: "What did Sting do in the Hamburg top bordello?"

Advertising itself as a strip club, the promotional literature of Relax says that the club "frequented by more than 40 top models every night".

Reports have suggested that what is not advertised so freely is that most of the models rent themselves out by the hour. They usually accompany clients to the swimming pool, whirlpool bath and sauna inside.

However, the spokesperson for the club said she knew a photo of Sting was taken in the car park in his minibus, but denied he had been inside.

"No, no, he wasn't here," the Daily Mail quoted the spokesperson, as saying.

Sting's publicist defended his client by insisting that the singer has never hidden his fondness for going to strip clubs.

"Sting and his wife Trudie Styler have always been open about their interest in strip clubs. I do not know whether he went to this club. However I would not be surprised if he went. It is nothing he would be ashamed of," the publicist said.
