London, September 14 : Hollywood filmmaker Quentin Tarantino lost his way home after enjoying a charity bash in honour of his new movie 'Death Proof', and had to hitch a lift on a skip lorry to reach his hotel.
The director reportedly spent more than 1,000 pounds on booze at the party. He also stunned revellers by pushing the DJ off the mike at the Tea Factory to judge a Reservoir Dogs-style dance-off.
However, his hangover kicked in the wee hours on Wednesday when he lost his way in Souseland, and had to flag down a skip lorry to take him to his hotel.
"Man, I had so much fun when I hitched a ride with this cool trucker dude," the Sun quoted him as saying.
"They were chanting my name so I gave them a wave and we started talking. I told them I was waiting for my driver and the trucker said he would give me a lift. Liverpool people are really friendly. I just jumped in," he added.
Tarantino went to the party to raise money for Alder Hey children's hospital. He said that he attended the bash because he liked to mix with his fans.
"When I heard people were putting on a party in my honour, I had to go. I love mixing with my fans," he said.
Party organiser Amber Tan said: "We knew he was ready to party when he arrived with a bottle of bitter in his hand. He was on brilliant form, high-fiving fans and knocking back champagne. The bar had arranged an £800 Death Proof ice sculpture which he hacked to pieces with an ice-pick as everyone cheered.""Then he knocked the DJ off his mic and told the crowd to get involved in a John Travolta/Uma Thurman twist competition, like the one in Pulp Fiction, as he picked the tunes. No wonder he was feeling so rough. I was stunned when he called me that night and asked if I could take him for a drink," Tan added.
