Washington, Sep 12 : Late opera legend Luciano Pavarotti's daughters have dismissed reports that there's a family rift going on over the star's 500 million dollars fortune.
Lorenza, Cristina and Giuliana Pavarotti, the singer's daughters from his first marriage to Adua Veroni are upset with Italian and British reports suggesting that they are disputing with the tenor's second wife, Nicoletta Mantovani, over his "hidden wealth."
"The death of papa for us has been, like for all those who lose a parent, a lacerating tear," Contactmusic quoted Cristina, as saying.
"We know that in Italy, as elsewhere, false news and idle inferences that involve us are coming out. This is causing us bitterness," she added.
Friends expected a fierce dispute between Nicoletta and Pavarotti's daughters from his first marriage, after it surfaced that the opera legend had changed his will in favour of the latter just weeks before his death.
Pavarotti, 71, died on Sep 6 at his home in Modena, Northern Rome, after losing his long battle with cancer.
