Washington, Sept 10: Actor Viggo Mortensen praised on Naomi Watts as she refused to develop a obsession with the way she looks.
Mortensen worked with Watts on new David Cronenburg movie, Eastern Promises, and was in all praises for the new mum, who brilliantly combined intelligence with fabulous looks, and never got distracted from her performance.
"Watts has beauty and brains, she can't really not look attractive. What I respect is that not only does she act really well in the movie but she looks like she has that job." Contactmusic.com quoted him, as saying.
"Everybody talks about how people look, the dress they wear and 'I hated her hair!' and all this kind of stupid stuff. It's very distracting, I think, for a performer - especially actresses." he further added.
Going by the current obsession among stars about their image and how they looked, Mortensen commended Watts.
"In some cases, that preoccupation with image carries over into movies and ruins even good performances, but never with Watts." he commented.
