London, Oct 8 : U2 frontman Bono's daughter was the target of a kidnap plot back in 1994, claims a new book.
Top gangster Martin Cahill's daughter Frances reveals in her book that five Irish criminals were plotting to kidnap Bono's daughter Jordan who was just four years old at the time.
According to Frances, they were then planning on asking for a 4 million pounds ransom, reports The Sun.
The plot was only dropped after Cahill, nicknamed The General, put a stop to the idea by saying: "It ISN'T going to happen."
In her book, Frances also tells how as a part of the plan, the men staked out the rock star's mansion in Dublin for six months
Cahill was shot dead at a road junction near his home in Rathmines on August 18, 1994 by the IRA, which claimed they killed Cahill in response to his alleged involvement with a loyalist paramilitary group.
