New York, Oct 18 : Former N'Sync star Lance Bass was feeling so bad for Britney Spears when her life first started spiralling out of control that he told her he was gay. However, the revelation had a very unexpected outcome.
Bass reveals that he revealed his secret to Britney at a time when she had just got her marriage to first hubby Jason Alexander annulled, and he felt that she needed 'something to share'.
"It was the night of her first wedding, actually. I was in Vegas with her, her dancers, her manager, and my boyfriend at the time . . . Her manager had already gotten rid of [her first husband] Jason [Alexander] - they'd flown him home. Britney was upset about what she had done. I felt bad for her. I knew she was about to go through a lot of crap. I felt the need to share something. So I sat her on my bed, and I'm like, Well, I'm gay!" the New York Post quoted him, as telling GQ.
However, he reveals that not only was Britney shocked, but that the two stopped speaking shortly after that.
"She was surprised. I was always the Southern gentleman."
"I tried. I tried. She's my neighbor in Beverly Hills. She lives next door. I tried to get in touch with her - I wanted to be that friend to help her. I don't think she's having any of her old friends anymore."
