Washington, Oct 13 : Patrick Swayze has signed on to star in "The Beast", an upcoming serial for A and E television network.
The 'Dirty Dancing' star will be playing a rule-bending undercover FBI agent in the pilot, reports Variety.
The series is set to deal with the tension between the end-justifies-the-means philosophy of Swayze's character and his naïve younger partner Travis Fimmel's more idealistic approach.
The exec producers of "The Beast," a Sony Pictures production, are Allan Loeb and Steven Pearl for Scarlet Fire Films, and Cory Concoff for Fuel Filmworks.
William Rotko and Vincent Angell are writing the screenplay for the pilot.
