Contrary to reports, Aussie pop princess Delta Goodrem has accepted beau Brian McFaddens marriage proposal.

Sydney, Nov 30 : Contrary to reports, Aussie pop princess Delta Goodrem has accepted beau Brian McFadden's marriage proposal.

The news follows reports that the 23-year-old declined the proposal after the former Westlife star popped the question last week.

According to the Sydney Daily Telegraph, Goodrem told the Irish singer that she was "too young" to settle down.

Sources close to Goodrem told the publication that she struggled with her decision because, though she's madly in love with McFadden, she's not ready to become a stepmother to his two young daughters from his first marriage to British singer Kerry Katona.

However, Goodrem's spokeswoman has dismissed the reports, insisting that the couple are ready to tie the knot.

She confirmed the news that Goodrem has accepted McFadden's marriage proposal, and the two are engaged.

"Contrary to false reports, the couple were hoping to keep the news private however they feel it is important to now confirm their exciting news," News.com.au quoted the spokeswoman, as saying.

No date has been announced for the wedding as yet.
