New York, Nov 3 : Sir Salman Rushdie flounced into an investor's party dressed as evil 'Darth Vader'.
The Satanic Verses author dressed as the Star Wars character literally had to use his light saber to fend off a bevy of scantily costumed ladies at Chris and Michelle Barish's bash.
A hostess at the party said that she had to rescue Rushdie from the ladies
"I literally had to rescue Salman," New York Post quoted the hostess, as saying.
Since 2004, he had been married to the Indian actress and model Padma Lakshmi, the host of the American reality-television show Top Chef.
However, on July 2, 2007, it was announced that Rushdie and his wife would divorce, with Rushdie indicating that it was her desire to end the marriage.
