Samuel L. Jackson has signed on to star in Man That Rocks the Cradle.

Washington, Nov 29 : Samuel L. Jackson has signed on to star in 'Man That Rocks the Cradle'.

The news was confirmed by studio New Line, reports Variety.

The pic will be the first vehicle for Jackson since the studio forged a deal with his Uppity Films.

Based on a story by Josh Cagan and Rob McKittrick, the movie tells the story of an overworked husband and father of four who decides the solution to all his problems is a live-in nanny.

Jackson will play the nanny, Marion Delacroix, a reputed "kid whisperer" from the South.

The actor will also be producing the movie along with Michael Nash through the Uppity Films banner. Chris Fenton and McKittrick will be exec producers.

He is currently in production on the Frank Miller-directed "The Spirit."
