Washington, Nov 29 : Michael Lee has been roped in to direct Samuel L. Jackson and Bernie Mac in the comedy 'Soul Men'.

Jackson and Mac are set to play bickering backup soul singers in the Dimension Films' flick.

The two men haven't spoken in 20 years but reluctantly travel cross country together for a tribute concert to honour their famous former band leader.

Pic will have the actors doing their own musical and dancing performances for the film, whose script has been penned by Robert Ramsey and Matthew Stone, the team behind comedies "Intolerable Cruelty," "Life" and "Man of the House."

Production on the movie is scheduled to start on Jan. 21.

David Friendly is producing with Steven Greener, and they will be joined by Charles Castaldi, Lee's producing partner.

Lee, who directed "The Best Man," "Undercover Brother" and "Roll Bounce," most recently completed "Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins," a comedy he also wrote.
