Back to Black singer Amy Winehouse is finding it so difficult to carry on without hubby Blake Fielder-Civil, who is cooling his heels in jail, that shes decided to cancel the rest of her UK tour.
London, Nov 28 : 'Back to Black' singer Amy Winehouse is finding it so difficult to carry on without hubby Blake Fielder-Civil, who is cooling his heels in jail, that she's decided to cancel the rest of her UK tour.
Amy, whose performance has not been up to the mark, totally broke down on Nov 27 and demanded that her remaining tour dates be scrapped. Her reason being that she cannot go on without her husband Blake Fielder-Civil.
The broken star issued a statement yesterday afternoon after crisis talks with her management and tour bosses in London.
"I can't give it my all onstage without my Blake. I'm so sorry but I don't want to do the shows half-heartedly; I love singing. My husband is everything to me and without him it's just not the same," The Sun quoted her, as saying in a statement.
A source revealed: "Amy was in Brighton this morning preparing at the Hilton for her gig in Bournemouth.
"She suddenly left for London for a meeting yesterday afternoon and decided she couldn't go on.
"She was in a terrible state in London. She looked awful and had been in floods of tears. She was fragile and weak like an old woman. It was depressing to watch. When the tour was cancelled it was like a weight lifted off her shoulders immediately."
The announcement had been expected for weeks, especially after the poor performance in Europe and on home soil.
Her fans had walked out of concerts half way through, as they were disgusted with her stumbling and slurring. Her drug problems were clearly seen as being out of control.
At the opening night of the UK Tour she swore at the crowd calling them "mugs" for booing her when she mentioned Blake's name.
Last night a spokesman for the singer said: "Amy Winehouse has cancelled all remaining live and promotional appearances for the remainder of the year on the instruction of her doctor.
"The rigours involved in touring and the intense emotional strain that Amy has been under in recent weeks have taken their toll.
"In the interests of her health and well-being, Amy has been ordered to take complete rest and deal with her health issues.
"Refunds for the remaining dates will be issued from the point of purchase."
A spokesman for gig promoters LiveNation explained: "Hire of the venues alone will be insured to a certain degree.
"The venues she is cancelling are expensive to hire but the costs should be covered.
"The rail pain is for the fans who have to wait for refunds and have the hassle of losing travel costs. It's also highly unlikely they will get booking fees back.
"Anyone who has travelled far booking hotels will be hit the hardest. It will definitely discourage fans from buying tickets for shows in the future."
However, despite her troubles over the last six months Amy's record sales haven't suffered. Her most recent album Back to Black even climbed the charts when she hit the headlines for her rushed marriage and drug woes.
