To The Manor Born to return for one-off Christmas special

Penelope Keith and Peter Bowles are set to return to the classic comedy To The Manor Born for a one-off Christmas special.

London, Nov 27 : Penelope Keith and Peter Bowles are set to return to the classic comedy 'To The Manor Born' for a one-off Christmas special.

The two stars will their roles, with Keith playing aristocratic Audrey Fforbes-Hamilton, and Bowles playing the dashing Richard DeVere.

Keith and Bowles last appeared on screen together in the comedy 1981. That episode saw the two getting married.

The Christmas special will see a major event threatening to disturb life at the estate in Grantleigh as Audrey and Richard prepare to celebrate their silver wedding anniversary.

The cast are currently filming for the hour-long programme on location in Somerset.

'To The Manor Born' was screened in the UK between 1979 and 1981. It revolved around the life of the recently widowed Audrey, who, having been forced to sell the Manor to cover the debts incurred by her late husband, is forced to adapt to a more humble lifestyle and lower social status.

Keith revealed that she was having a lot of fun filming the special.

"It's enormous fun to be filming for the Christmas special and a great joy to be returning to BBC One," Times Online quoted her, as saying.
