Gandhi star Sir Ben Kingsley insists that he never reads what is written about him in the papers, for its written not for him, but people curious about him.
New York, Nov 27 : 'Gandhi' star Sir Ben Kingsley insists that he never reads what is written about him in the papers, for it's written not for him, but people curious about him.
The Oscar winning star told the New York Daily News this when the paper tried to quiz him about a story printed in another paper about his marriage to Daniela Barbosa de Carneiro, a Brazilian actress 30 years his junior.
"I don't read anything about me in print. It's not written for me. It's written for people who are curious about me. I'm being dead-serious. I don't read them," the New York Daily News quoted him, as saying.
The 63-year old also hit out at people who passed remarks about the age difference between him and Barbosa, his fourth wife.
"We all mature at different stages in our lives. It's taken me a longer journey to be equal to her. We see each other as equals. People can chat away, but that's how it is," he said.
The couple have also set up a production company together, and are now on the look out for a project.
"We'd love to find a project together. We're both moved by similar things. We're both looking for truth," he said.
Sir Ben and Daniela met shortly after his divorce from third wife Alexandra Christmann.
That marriage fell apart after a German tabloid published pictures of Christmann, also three decades younger than Kingsley, kissing another man.
