Pop star Michael Jacksons brother Jermaine has revealed that their family is all set to reunite as The Jackson 5 once again.
London, November 27 : Pop star Michael Jackson's brother Jermaine has revealed that their family is all set to reunite as 'The Jackson 5' once again.
The concert dates have been discussed, and the band may stage gigs "sometime in 2008", he said.
"Michael will be involved. We feel we have to do it one more time. We owe that to the fans and to the public," the BBC quoted the singer and guitarist as saying.
The group last toured with six members in 1984, in support of the Victory album, which was successful.
The 'Thriller' star was reportedly reluctant to go on the road with his brothers, and told the audience on the last night of the tour that he was leaving the group. In 1990, the group formally disbanded.
Rumours about the group's reunion have circulated for years.
Jermaine has now revealed that the plans about their reunion got delayed because of Michael's trial for child abuse in 2005.
"There's been so much going on, getting over all the hurdles that we all were faced with during Michael's trial," he said.
"But we are stronger than ever. I'm gonna say thank you, thank you, thank you so much to all the fans and the supporters of my family all over Europe, all over the UK especially, who came out to show their love and their support," he added.
Jermaine insisted that Michael would be part of the band upon its reunion.
"He has to be. He is a Jackson. He was at the meetings. Michael will be involved," he said.
He also hinted that the band might release a new album soon.
