Mel Brooks didnt want to make out with Whoopi Goldberg

Comic legend Mel Brooks dropped Hollywood actress Whoopi Goldberg from 1991 movie Life Stinks in order to avoid kissing her on screen.

New York, Nov 25 : Comic legend Mel Brooks dropped Hollywood actress Whoopi Goldberg from 1991 movie 'Life Stinks' in order to avoid kissing her on screen.

While promoting his new play 'Young Frankenstein' in New York, Brooks related to some friends that Goldberg had been the favourite to star opposite him in the film.

Apparently, his co-writer Rudy De Luca had said at the time, "She's funny, she's sassy -- she may be perfect for the role."

Brooks agreed till De Luca added with a grin, 'But you know, Mel, you'll have to make out with her at the end.'

Shocked with the prospect Brooks replied, "Couldn't I just kiss her hand for 2.5 million dollars?"

Brooks admitted that it was the fear of having to kiss Goldberg that led him to instead cast Lesley Ann Warren, reports the New York Post.

"Though (she was) not funny," he added.
