Mills brands rich people stingy

Heather Mills has blasted the worlds wealthiest people by branding them stingy, despite the fact she could get a good share of her estranged husband Sir Paul McCartneys 800 million pounds fortune in their divorce.

London, Nov 23 : Heather Mills has blasted the world's wealthiest people by branding them 'stingy,' despite the fact she could get a good share of her estranged husband Sir Paul McCartney's 800 million pounds fortune in their divorce.

The 39-year-old former model while delivering a speech at the debating society at Trinity College in Dublin said that the world's wealthiest people are snobs and tight with money.

But Mills said that she has to befriend the wealthy - despite their nasty qualities - because that is the only way to bring about a change.

"Sadly, you have to mix at a certain level of people to raise the level of funds you need to bring about the greater good," The Sun quoted Mills, as saying.

"These people who have lots of money, they're either snobby or they're stingy. If you have lots of money, you have to be stingy - because why would you want that amount of money?

"But you have to be able earn a certain living and be able to mix in that arena to influence those people and kind of drag that out of them to actually make a change and make them realise that's what's really exciting about life," she added.

Macca had reportedly offered Mills about 25 million pounds in their divorce settlement, however, she has denied asking for any money.

The animal rights activist took the opportunity to repeat her criticism of the media, after beginning her speech by requesting that press photographers leave the room.

"I don't think anything can prepare you for being treated worse than a murderer or a paedophile, when all you have done in 17 years is charity work. I hope there are some truthful reporters here, but there are not too many on the planet," she said.

Mills said that she gets a raw deal in the media because she is a "woman that speaks out".

Mills also compared herself to other human rights crusaders, who have been victimized for their beliefs.

"If you look at every single person in the history of the world who has tried to make a difference, you'll find a very long section of their lives where they were treated horrifically by the government or by the media," she said.
