Washington, Nov 23 : Hugh Grant's former girlfriend and Imran Khan's ex-wife Jemima Khan has spoken of her relief after the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf founder was finally released from jail in Pakistan.
The 54-year-old former cricketer, who had vowed to fast to death after his arrest last week (18Nov07) - was finally released from a jail in southern Punjab.
"We're all very relieved, especially since this means he can now end his hunger strike," Contactmusic quoted Jemima, as saying.
The Cricket legend and political campaigner, Imran Khan, divorced Jemima in 2004.
He was among more than 3,000 opponents of President Pervez Musharraf freed on Thursday (22Nov07), after five days' imprisonment.
"He's keen to make the point that although he's free, there are many more innocent people who are still in jail... He'll now be able to protest more actively again," said Jemima, who is the mother of his two children.
Their release came as Pakistan's government hinted the military leader could stand down as head of the armed forces within days.
