London, Nov22 : A 10ft hand-painted replica guitar, owned by ex-Beatle Sir Paul McCartney has raked in a whopping 60,000 pounds at an auction at the O2 in London.
It was one of 60 guitars sold to raise money for Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy, the Prince's Trust and the Teenage Cancer Trust.
Present at the occasion, the ex-Beatle said that he was very happy that the guitar went for a good cause.
"I'm really amazed and very happy that the guitar went for so much and for such a great cause" Daily Snack quoted the legend, as saying.
The successful bidder has announced that he would donate the guitar to Great Ormond Street Hospital in London.
Other guitars auctioned included Ronnie Wood's guitar which fetched 11,000 pounds, while the Wall-themed instrument owned by Pink Floyd legend Roger Waters fetched 10,500 pounds.
Slash's Gibson guitar went for 8500 pounds and Paul Weller's guitar, designed by Sir Peter Blake, reached 8,000 pounds.
