London, Nov 20: Billie Piper series 'Secret Diary Of A Call Girl' has made it to the nominations for an adult film award.
The ITV2 show is the only mainstream production to be nominated for the Best Soft Core Production as part of the UK Adult Film and Television Awards.
The English star played a high-class prostitute in the adaptation of Belle de Jour's confessional book, which began life as an anonymous blog.
The awards chairman Phil Black commended Piper for her "brave" performance.
"The sheer fact that the series was aired is a reflection of the changing attitudes in British society, which has traditionally been very conservative in its public attitude to sex," the Daily Snack quoted him, as saying.
"Series such as this help a nation move closer to an understanding of itself."
The awards will be handed out on November 29 in East London.
Other categories include most outrageous scene, best transsexual release and pay-per-view channel of the year.
