London, Nov 18 : The Spice Girls have defended lip-synching at their debut comeback on Nov 16, at the star-studded Victoria's Secret fashion show in Los Angeles.

The girls, who were dressed in military clothes and were accompanied by male dancers, performed two songs, 'Stop' and their new track 'Headlines'.

The performance was recorded at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood for US broadcast on December 4, reports the Daily Snack.

A spokesman for the band defended the group by saying, "The girls were never asked to perform live as their performance was recorded for the TV show.

"But rest assured the girls will be fully live for their opening tour date on December 2", he added, on behalf of the band, who were performing via video link for BBC One's Children In Need.
