Julie Christie tipped for an Oscar for Away From Her

Hollywood actress Julie Christie has been tipped to win to an Oscar for her role as an Alzheimers patient in the 2006 movie Away From Her.

London, Nov 18 : Hollywood actress Julie Christie has been tipped to win to an Oscar for her role as an Alzheimer's patient in the 2006 movie 'Away From Her'.

Despite getting acclaims for the film, the 66-year-old is still concerned with her appearance in the film than with her hopes for the award.

The 66-year-old star, who had a facelift some years ago, believes that the lighting in the drama made her look older and less attractive.

"I was concerned about that and I made it quite clear before the film started. People of my age should be tenderly lit," the Daily Express quoted Christie, as saying.

"Everyone has said to me, 'God, you look so much older in the film than you do in real life' and I thought I did too. But maybe I do look like that - maybe I look 101," she said.

However, the screen legend accepted that there was no need of glaming her up for her role as a woman who loses all memory of the life she knew with her husband.

"It would have been unsuitable if I'd looked any younger than I am, so I think there may have been a secret pact between the director and the lighting and camera people not to give into my vanity," she said.
